About Me
Raela obtained her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of British Columbia. She works with paediatric and school-aged clients in person and through online services. Raela believes that connection and playfulness are foundational for learning, and is passionate about working collaboratively with clients and their families.
Raela is a RASP certified SLP and believes in supporting autistic clients and their families through a neurodiversity affirming lens - focusing on the whole person, including their strengths, interests, and sensory needs. She is experienced at providing support to implement augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC). She also applies principles of gestalt language processing to her approach.
Raela’s other areas of experience include working with children with ADHD, childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) and other speech sound disorders, language delays and disorders, and fluency disorders (stuttering).
Raela is passionate about continuing education to continue providing the highest quality of services for her clients. She is also passionate about evidence-informed practice and strives to keep her approaches relevant through keeping up with current research, and learning from other clinicians’ experiences and client perspectives.
